A useful walk starts at your door
A dog walker is there to take the dog out near home, not to cross half of Belgium. A sitter from another province will add the journey to their time and their price. Search first for a dog walk in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Liège, Bruges, Namur or Leuven, where the dog actually lives.
Bois de la Cambre, the Ghent canals, the Citadel park in Namur or the Ostend seafront do not suit the same dog. Read whether the profile names walking places. If it names none, ask before you book.
Leash, other dogs, bikes
Say whether you want a short leash or a long line, a muzzle, and whether the walk is solo or with other dogs. In Brussels the real risk is traffic, scooters and bikes, not a lack of parks. A dog that pulls toward wheels needs a known route, not a shopping street at office closing time.
Local rules differ. In season, the seafront and some beaches restrict dogs. In parks the leash can be compulsory even if the dog “is good”. A neighbourhood sitter knows those rules better than a walker passing through.
Booking the walk
Booking follows the same path as the other services. You open the profile, sign in with an owner account, and send the request with the days, the time and the length. The sitter accepts or declines. Until they accept, the walk is not agreed. A sitter account cannot book.
Compare the price of a walk with day care. A 45-minute round suits a dog that stays calm the rest of the time. A dog that wrecks the flat as soon as it is alone needs care, not only a lap of the block.
After the walk
A photo or one sentence is enough: he drank, he pulled toward the bikes, he met another dog without trouble. If behaviour changes, say so before the next time. A good walker changes the route. They do not insist on a street that frightens the dog.
Keeping the same sitter for the dog walk builds a routine: same time, same streets, same rules. That often works better than changing dog walker every week to save a few euros.
