Become a pet sitter in Belgium

What owners actually search for

To become a pet sitter in Belgium is to answer very concrete searches: dog care in Brussels, a cat visit in Ghent, a walk in Antwerp, boarding in Liège. Owners are not looking for “someone who loves animals” in general. They look for a municipality, a service and a price.

EuroPetSitter city pages only show visible profiles whose address matches. Write the municipality in full: Ixelles, Uccle, Gent, Liège, Leuven, Namur. “Belgium” alone puts you in no city. Turn on only the services you really offer: boarding, day care, home visit, walk, outing.

Rates, requests and commission

You set your prices on the profile: per night for boarding, per visit, per walk. Owners compare those prices. EuroPetSitter does not take a commission on the care. You keep the amount you entered.

A request is not a confirmed stay. The owner sends it from your public profile, signed in with an owner account. You accept or decline it in your sitter area. A sitter account cannot book another sitter. Until you accept, the calendar does not block the dates.

The profile that gets requests

Photos of the home, the garden and you with an animal matter more than a vague paragraph. Write what you refuse: no cats, no unneutered male, no unvaccinated puppy, no toddler in the house, a third-floor flat without a lift. Those limits prevent bad bookings.

Reviews come after a real stay. Do not invent ratings. A new profile in Charleroi, Mons or Ostend can still get a first request if the city, the photos and the price are clear. Reply quickly: dog care for the coming weekend often goes to the first sitter who answers.

Organising care at home

Day care, overnight boarding and home visits do not need the same schedule. A walk in Brussels fits between two appointments. Boarding fills the night and the morning. Block the days you are away in the calendar, instead of accepting and then cancelling.

Plan the nearest vet, a backup person, and a simple rule for keys on a home visit. Belgian owners often compare a pet sitter with a kennel. Your advantage is the house, the limited number of animals, and being able to write exactly how the stay works.
